HELP COLLECT SUITCASES, DUFFLE BAGS & DIAPER BAGS FOR FOSTER KIDS

Each year many kids in our area have to be rescued from dangerous home environments. It often happens with no notice and law enforcement or case workers help them put some belongings in a garbage bag to take to a Foster home. It’s a scary time with a lot of uncertainty.

Join the Portneuf Rotary Club and United Way of Southeastern Idaho to give kids a bag they can call their own to help make the move easier. Kids deserve more than a garbage bag, sponsored by a grant from Depend.

For every bag you donate, we’ll match it with a book that the child can take with them wherever they are placed–something comforting for kids who’ve lost almost everything & everyone around them.

WHEN:

June 6-11

WHAT:

New or gently used duffle bags, suitcases & diaper bags

WHY:

To give abused & neglected children who’ve been taken from their homes something in which to carry their belongings

Portneuf Rotary Website Pic 2015

Portneuf Rotary Club is the newest club in Pocatello, Idaho and the area’s only evening club. Our slogan is, “Fermenting a Spirit of Service and Friendship.” Our club supports and participates in community and worldwide projects focusing on youth, clean water and the eradication of polio. We use the word ‘fermenting’ because we meet at Portneuf Valley Brewing, a locally owned brewery and restaurant. We enjoy great friendships, networking and leadership development. Our monthly goal is to be an active part out and about in our community–helping, providing, or learning from those around us.
